What is a VPN?

A virtual private network routes selected device traffic through an encrypted tunnel to a gateway.

Two ends of a connection

Your device runs a VPN client. A remote gateway receives tunnel traffic and routes it onward according to its configuration. The gateway’s network determines the actual internet exit location.

Useful, with limits

A VPN can change the path your traffic takes and protect the device-to-gateway leg. It does not by itself make every website safe, remove all tracking, guarantee anonymity or replace good account security.

What BiTTU provides today

A self-hosted WireGuard project, an Android repair candidate and a management website. There are no deployed public BiTTU gateways, so choosing a country in the directory cannot create a connection.
